Your data at the table

Privacy Policy

Living Party uses only the data needed to keep a private, persistent voice RPG running, recover purchases, and create visuals you explicitly request.

What we collect

When you use Sign in with Apple, we receive an Apple-provided account identifier and any name you choose to share. We store your character choices, game actions, world state, checkpoints, inventory, relationships, account entitlements, live-time ledger, and generated scene references so your campaign can continue consistently.

Your permission before AI processing

Before Living Party sends personal data to an AI provider, the app shows a dedicated consent screen. It identifies OpenAI and fal.ai, explains the categories of data each receives, and asks you to allow AI processing. If you choose Not now, AI sharing stays off and the living table does not begin. You can read this policy before deciding.

Voice, typed actions and story context

After you allow AI processing, microphone audio, typed actions, character choices and the story context needed for the current scene are sent to OpenAI to understand your action and return transcription, narration and character voices. Living Party may store text transcripts and resulting game events with your world so you can review canon and recover from errors. We do not use your voice to clone your identity. OpenAI states that API data is not used to train its models unless the API customer explicitly opts in; default abuse-monitoring logs may be retained for up to 30 days.

Optional selfie-to-character

The likeness feature is optional. Only when you choose it, a source photo is placed in private Supabase storage and sent to fal.ai to generate the selected fantasy portrait. The source is deleted after you approve the result or automatically within 24 hours. You can play without providing a photo.

Contextual images

When the game paints a contextual scene, a constrained scene description and required visual references are sent to fal.ai. The description is designed to avoid sending your Apple identity, payment details or raw voice audio.

Purchases

Apple processes payments. RevenueCat receives purchase identifiers, entitlement status, an app user identifier, and related diagnostics so Living Party can restore membership, live-time purchases, and owned Seasons. We do not receive your full payment-card details, and Apple payment details are not sent to AI providers.

Service providers and protection

We use Supabase for authentication, databases, private storage and server functions; RevenueCat for purchase entitlement handling; OpenAI for live speech, transcription, typed actions and Game Master responses; and fal.ai for requested contextual image generation. We contractually require providers that receive personal data to protect it to the same or an equivalent standard as described here and to process it only for the service they provide to Living Party.

Analytics and diagnostics

PostHog receives privacy-limited product events and technical diagnostics so we can find failures and improve reliability. These events exclude raw audio, names and free-form story text. We do not sell personal data or use it for cross-app advertising.

Retention and deletion

Persistent campaign data is retained while your account exists. You can delete a source photo separately, or permanently delete the entire Living Party account from Market → Account & Privacy. Account deletion removes your worlds and associated personal data from Living Party. Apple subscriptions are controlled by Apple and must be cancelled separately.

Your choices

You can decline AI processing before any story audio, typed action, character choice, relevant story context or optional likeness photo is sent to an AI provider. You can also decline microphone, camera, photos, notifications and likeness access. Text play remains available after AI processing is allowed. You can review captions, change content intensity, restore purchases, sign out and delete your account inside the app.

Children and content

Living Party is designed for a teen-to-mature fantasy audience and is not directed to children under 13. The product may contain fantasy violence, frightening creatures and user-directed generated dialogue.
